Noobies

21. now that's a number. unfortuantely I've been warned by many that "it's all down hill from here"...

on a brighter note, the party to celebrate my 21 bile filled years on this earth is this weekend. A mad hatter theme; to accomodate all those freaks and nit-wits i've befriended over the years. Should be fun really!

I've therefore made this hat...

Actual hat made from stiff felt. flowers from soft felt, embroidery and buttons, ruffled ribbon lace around the edge, and some silver balls. Delightful! I've attatched it to a headband, and it fixes onto my head - slightly to the side. :D It's also tiny. way smaller than my hand. WOOP!

In other delicious news, I was given a STEAMPUNK RING!!! from Felix for my birthday :). It's pretty much the greatest: SEE

Pegasus: The Mighty Colt

My lovely car, my first car, my little pride and joy...is no more.

Well...it's now with another family. My parents decided that Peg wasn't the car for my anymore, and they replaced her with a green Cino named Veena.

I loved Peg so much, so as a tribute to her and the adventures we had I'm going to make a zine... starting tonight.

Op Shoppy Goodness

Hey Thrill Seekers.

It's been a while between meals. Assignments, plays, and life in general has kept me 'a-rocking' and 'a-rolling'.
I went to the library today, and found a new little Op Shop on the way :) I found three lovely treasures

This little piggy bank. HE IS THE MOST ADORABLE THING EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe he will convince me to save a bit more money!

This GORGEOUS pendant of a Japanese lady in a kimono. It's hand painted on a shell type thing i think. So pretty

And this Genuine Leather, made in Italy shoulder bag. OMG! Been looking for one of these for ages, and got it for an awesome price!

Yay! I also spent the long weekend making this 'Big Bunch' of Pastel coloured flowers for BlackBird Corner.

Now I have 2 more assignments until Im free for the holidays!

Well, report to write. Gilmore Girls to watch.

Sticked.

As i was walking from Uni to my car in the bleakness that was this afternoon I was very nearly hit by a stick.

"A stick" you may ask....

Yes dear friends. A stick. A rather large stick.

I was merrily walking along, reading Strawberry Hills Forever and delighting in how very well Vanessa Berry writes, when a car drove past.... and it's spinning wheels flicked up a big stick that came a-crashing down just next to my head. JUST missing me.

Shocked, I swore, turned around to see a few people staring, and quickly turned back to the path I had been walking along.

This, my lovelies has taught me a dear dear lesson: I will never find anybody who can give me a clear and compelling reason why we observe "Daylight Saving Time."

Thanks for the Tag Jacinta!!!

Russell Brand and various other fruits

I saw Russell Brand at the Enmore Theatre 2 days ago.... WOW!!!! He was fantastic, and my Felix is a little bit in love with him now. The trip home was loooonnng. Felix and I got stuck at Wyong for an hour and a half at 2 in the morning due to trackwork. We got home at 5am.

((I love this photo! The Focus is entirely on Russ, and he's looking quite serene))

In other news the play that I'm in opens tonight, after a bit of a rocky Preview last night ( for me anyway)
It's called Peepshow, and is presented by Tantrum Theatre. It's an installation piece situated in the Civic Arcade on Hunter Street, and will involve the audience walking to different parts of the arcade to watch 5 minutes performances. It's pretty insane and very rude, sexual, and intimidating.

SO COME ALONG!! $10 entry. Performances start at 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm nightly from tonight til Saturday this week. And from Wednesday to Saturday next week. Bookings are essential - call (02) 4929 7279. The Shows running time is roughly 80 minutes.

Well, uni soon. Off to class. (euk)

Yellow-Wingēd-Beast is a slave to the Cookie

Ahhhh morning! What a morning! I went to make pancakes, but my batter had gone awry, so its just good ole' raisin toast.

Last night, while delighting in a glass of my fave red, i baked my Felix some cookies. Now i don't want to sound like a cock-head, but these are the best goddam cookies this side of cookie mountain. (also i know it's American but i can't help calling these particular bickies, cookies. It suits their personality better!) So as a special treat (HA!!) and also because my besty Katey from Lamginton Western and Hyper Music (check them out, she writes like a pro!!), has been pestering me for this recipe for a long while :) So here we go!

Elly's Choc Chip Cookies

180g soft butter
1/3 cup castor sugar
125ml condensed milk (i use skim *grin*)
1 1/2 cups Self Raising flour
250g Choc chips (use less if you want to add more ingredients - see below)
( and if you want to shake it up a bit, add a handful of tiny mashmallows, and chuck in whatever chococlate you have around, eg. Smarties, tiny choc eggs, white choc etc)

*Beat butter and sugar together in a small bowl til light and creamy
*Beat in Condensed Milk
*Add flour 1/4 of a cup at a time and mix on a low speed. If the mixture seems too dry add a bit more condensed milk
*Preheat Oven to 180 degrees
* Stir in Choc Chips and any other goodies
* Place spoonfuls of mixture on paper lined trays
* Put 1/4 cup of Self Raising flour in a small bowl.
* With a fork, dip in flour and flatten the cookies.
*Bake in oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
(some oven temps may vary, i need to keep my Gas Fan Forced oven on a lower temp, otherwise i have black cookies, and im racist when it comes to baked goods!)

Happy Baking!!

In other news, my brooches and bouquets are now in store at Blackbird Corner!! I don't think I've been this excited in a little while! And Nikki from Blackbird Corner has been UBER supportive :D !! Thankyou for all your lovely comments about my brooches!! :) it means alot!

Well, as the rain is pouring down i guess I'd better hop along to rehearsals. I'm in another play :D weeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Hieronymo's mad againe

With my mouth full of the taste of my one and only favorite red wine, it is time to let you in on my little news.

...the little things that i make are going to be sold in a lovely shop on Darby Street (the cafe and fancy pants shop central of Newcastle). *does a little twirl!!*

The shop is called Blackbird Corner, and it sells things by local designers, and it sells 'Frankie' magazine and so many cute treasures... and they are going to let me sell my things there!!

I can't believe it, I'm ecstatic. I've always wanted to sell my brooches and bouquets and toys,
and I've found the perfect shop to do so in!

So here are a few pictures of what will be in a store soon! *hip hip hoorahhh!*

So besides this little piece of news I have:

* put my neck out by stupidly thinking that because i can do weights at the gym i can also do them at home... NEVER DO THEM AT HOME!!!!

* made a big batch of choc chip and marshmallow cookies that are almost all gone

* played an unreasonably large amount of Puzzlequest

I am looking forward to these things this week:

# Getting my ipod's battery recharged

# drinking the rest of the wine in the fridge

# selling my wares

# receiving my Direct Debit card

# Mum and Dad giving Felix and I my fave lounge chairs from home!

# wearing my new threads

# reading 'Frankie'

And that's all she wrote :)

His gorgeous insight into things was her anchor

What a lovely week it has been!! Here is why:

- I am going to the gym everyday and loving it
- I am making something new everyday
- I have money again
- Yesterday i bought an incredible dress :)
- The beautiful girls from Messy Maisies blog tagged me in
So now i am to write 10 facts about myself, and tag 10 more people. (and also try to make myblog decent eough for the viewings!)

Well, here we go!

1. My middle name is Hope and I've always liked it

2. I've been playing the guitar since I was in year one

3. I live in a new appartment with my lovely boyfriend and I love it, and I've found that in the past few days I've been rediscovering who I am, and all the things that I love to do.

4. I have a weird superstition about cutting my fingernails

5. I am going to be and English and Drama teacher

6. I work as a clown named Loopy. I spend my weekends blowing bubbles, painting faces, performing magic, orchestrating games, and peeling kids off me.
^This is my brother and I :) Having an adventure

7. I collect Russian hand painted brooches

8. Every morning i eat thick raisen toast, with a cup of coffee and peek through the Frankie Forums

9. I think there is nothing more wonderful and more terrifying than performing

10. I always give massages to people, and am secretly hopeful that one day I'll get one in return. :)

And now i nominate 10

>
Just Jacinta for being one of the first to take the time to look at my little blog, and for her love of Chocobo's and also for her crazy photo's :)

> Binky's Space - because Binky and his adventures are so god damn cute!!

> Messy Maisies - I hope i can nominate them, because their blog is one of my Faves to read :) so pretty!

> The-Creamy-Middles for R's reblooming creativity, and because it's a damn good read.

> teacupsandbobbysocks for inspiring me to get into blogging (even though she's on a hiatus at the moment)

> stepstotheleft for her lovely black blog!

> vanilla stars and candy bars for her lovely pictures

> Young Mind for her beautiful blog

> My Little Birdy for her cute-as-a-button blog

> Box of Glory - because i wish she'd start blogging again

So if you were a nominated chicky dee, then...

Here's what you have to do:
1. Put the logo on your blog or post.
2. Nominate at least 10 blogs which you think are fabulous.
3. Be sure to link your nominees within your post.
4. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to this post and to the person from whom you received your reward

Lancelot Link: Secret Chimp

After a Cowboys and Indians themed 21st tonight, i travelled home on the dark and dangerous road that is the Bucketts Way. It was on this trip that i made a little discovery. I don't know how to feel about this particular discovery, but I'll share it all the same.

Triple J were playing their crappy saturday night weird stuff, and my ipod battery was run right down. So i scanned the radio for anything to listen to. After bypassing a classical station or two, and a few pop dj's were rejected, i came across a station for the visually impaired. There were mostly interviews on people who help those with a disabilty - but there was one fellow who caught my attention. He spoke of an old television show from the 70's called Lancelot Link: Secret Chimp.

He was adamant that he was the only one who remembered this show, and seemed quite proud of it. I googled it when i got home and found out more about it.

Imagine a crime show, with secret agents, and bad guys and missions - kind of like Get Smart... then make all the characters chimpanzees. Throw in a dubbing track, and a Chimp band, and add some puns and you've got Lancelot Link: Secret Chimp.

I don't know whether to feel amused or abused? Those poor chimps.

Giving As Good As You Get

I'm a sick little poppet.

Not only do i have a cold in summer, but the only reason that I am sniffling in the stifling heat, is because I gave blood!

That's right! The generosity Karma isn't what it used to be. Obviously they've taken the white blood cells right out of me and left me in a freezing air conditioned room to suffer.

But really people, give a little of your blood!! It's totally worth it... besides all the pain and fainting and the getting sick part.

No but really, I'll be giving again despite all the baddies. Because really, saving three people at the cost of a cold is pretty fucking unreal.
