^^ I did a song!

Ahhh the day before Christmas Eve! It is today that Felix and I will make the drive back to my parents place to begin the festivities of Christmas.

I must admit... I'm a little EXCITED! Christmas at my house is fantastic. A Barbie angel always sits on top of our tree; a tradition my brother and i made up some years ago now. On Christmas Eve we watch Love Actually and Muppets Christmas Carol and leave the fairy lights on all night for last minute present fondling. And on Christmas morning we wake up early, and wait for an excruciating 2 hours before Dad comes home from work, and everyone wakes up. THEN IT'S PRESENT TIME!! We leave wrapping paper all over the floor all day and stash what we've received in opposite corners of the room. We lunch with my pop, and any other stragglers who we've picked up for the day, and spend the afternoon welcoming visits from family and friends.

For the next few nights we drink Baileys and play Euchre.

All these traditions make me so happy! I'm extra happy that Felix is involved in them now. But I'm also sad because this will be the second year in a row that my brother has been away.

I guess I'd better go start the day...

Moving to... the country? New York? Have I got millions of peaches or problems with my sleep??

My little life is on its way to being packed up in boxes.

This is exciting!

Frivolities of the week

This week has been: wonderful; tiring; irritating; enlightening and exciting.

Last Saturday: After work, while my Felix was orchestrating a LAN in a basketball stadium, I went to a free concert with Joelypoo and Annelies. The Seabellies and The Boat People were playing, and they were fantastic! We grabbed hamburgers and sat on the grass while all sorts of winds were a-blowing. After this outing I headed to a little party, where Elton John and party goers busted out "I guess that's why They call it the Blues". God Damn. What a catchy P.O.S. By Monday, the song was mine...

On Wednesday I went to the beach with Joely and Annelies... I also discovered that Annelies is a fucking legend. She leant me 4 old installments of Frankie that I hadn't read. We cooked chicken wings, stir fry vegies, and apple pie with berry coulis while Tux the Cat rampaged around out tootsies. I played foosball with Joel... also suffering the brutal truth, that I'm terrible at Foosball, and scream when the ball comes towards me...

"I think foosball is a combination of soccer and shish kabobs." - Mitch Hedburg

Yesturday was my best friend in the entire world's birthdae. And I watched her drink a massive bowl of chocolate.

I've never been prouder. :D

While holidays are gaping before me, I'm excited at how much reading time I have! By recommendation I picked up Twilight. With all the hype of the movie and the 'bestselling' italics that leapt up from the book cover, I decided to do the exact thing that I hated about the Harry Potter hype...

...I jumped on the bandwagon.

I expect someone will reveal me for what I am now!

This image >> pretty much shows how I feel when I read. Especially a book like Twilight with such fantastical elements. :)

I recently read 'The Sparrow', a science fiction novel - around about the same time I was playing the game Spore. The two combined made my reading experience so much better! Spore is about creating Creatures and the stages of your creatures evolution, and The Sparrow is about a group of humans visiting an alien planet and what they discover. It was fantastic. I would either be reading and wanting to play Spore, or playing and be wanting to read The Sparrow. I've never experienced such a strong connection betweens two texts before.

<< This is the main species from my Creations in Spore. The Orpheus Clan.

They're pretty incredible if I do say so myself!

I thinks that's all for now.
